I've never had this discussion with you so thank you for indulging me. I'm always curious when I see someone who knows Islam walk away because I can't picture it

So we've been asked to respect the other thread marka...

Doesn't Islam allows a man to beat his wife?
One verse in the Quran with one word that has been translated to mean that when alternatives exist. So does that mean islam allows a man to beat his wife, no

What else am I missing
What about the xadiith, its clear in the xadiith narrated by cumar that Mohammed said god will not bad at a man who beats his wife.
We were talking about the Quran, that's Allah talking directly to you and me. Is there anything in that which you believe is reason enough for me as a female to run a mile?

Xadiith compliments the Quran there is no Islam without xadiith. Xadiith is Islam, from xaj rituals, prayer rituals all its explained in the xadiith and xadiith allows men to abuse women from rape to beatings.

So are you saying then that it's not the Quran you have a problem with but haddiths?

The xadiith is a brutal book, if you read chapters regarding, women, slavery, you will cringe.

Good example is when the Muslims defeated a clan, the women prisoners were summarily raped and Ali the cousin of Mohammed took the lion share Mohammed didn't object to it.

To me there is something very disturbing about Islam.

To me there is something very disturbing about human beings

Human beings in the first century I can only imagine what was considered acceptable when a thousand years later it was considered acceptable to stick a rod up someone's ass and pass it all the way and out through their shoulder

I guess it's the trust and the faith in the Creator that contextualise any eyebrow raising commentary around religion. This is why I keep coming back to the point around the Quran. That's direct communication, have you read it all and been dissuaded from believing?

That's fascinating so I take it you read it in a language you understand?

Why did you read Ali Dashti

Its classical band book. The chapter on the grammatical errors, math and contradiction is an eye opener.

Why you read it in the first place

Let xplaya come back to Islam if he wants to you can't force no one that's not part islam everyone has to find his or her path on their own unless ilahay helps them all you can do is say please allah swt help them to right path .
I couldn't force him if I tried and I'm not trying to even talk him back. I'm just curious about how or why he left

Why would someone who knows about Islam and Allah turn their back, what's the logic and the mental process that leads someone to that conclusion

I find it very interesting

Most people who abandoned Islam did their homework I have yet to see an apostate who is ignorant of Islam, recently I finished reading Ibn Warraq apostate book, he is well versed in Islam.

To be honest with you most Islam leavers leave because of a bad experience, not because they are challenging the actual thesis of the quran.

It is always oh Islam is bad to women (every religion is bad to women. Hell 300 years ago women in Europe were being drowned and burned if someone mentioned which craft. Hindu India has some of the most worst treatments of women where gang rape is prevalent)

Point is if you fundamentally critically challenge the core of Islam /God/stories of the quran then I have respect for you then a emotional person who can't differentiate between culture and core values of religion.

Non the less, I have to agree with the point about abusing conquered people's women. Islam does say you can have sex with captured women prisoners of war or slave girls. That is rape and absolutely unjustifiable.

Under Islam, sex slavery is permitted. No one can deny this.

Another criticism of Islam I have is the fact that every nation being sent a prophet is just wrong, why does the quran focus only on prophets from the middle east (Israeli, Egyptian or arabs) is there a prophet from African nation or European nation. does Allah favor middle easterners to everyone else? Bit weird considering Allah created everyone. This would defeat the fallacy that anyone can choose to be followers of God which clearly is nonsense since not everyone got an equal opportunity. What justification is there for the people of Israel receiving more prophets then anyone. That simply doesn't reflect a supreme creator that provides an equal opportunity.

Non the less, I believe in Allah swc and I believe that Allah judges by actions, not whether you make your sujuud on a rock or whether you wear a short khamis or any of those irrelevant things. I believe a inherently good person will please Allah no matter the trivial circumstances.
