Is Balcad south of Afgooye?

I had looked at the map now and while my theory was correct that Afgoye would be downstream (lower elevation - 84m compared to Balcad's 94m), it seems like the river is much wider north of Balcad and between Afgoye and Balcad. Here it also twists a lot which means it's going to spill over due to the pressure.

north and southern Balcad are much greener than Afgoye and the green zone in Afgoye is in the north.

The coastal wind is coming strong from the east and anything east of Balcad is desert.

The best thing to do is farm south of Balcad but build containing walls on the east and trees to break down the coastal winds.

Both are beautiful.
