Somalia's problem is not clanism but clanism + Islam.
Islam is what makes somalis naturally fractious politics and social institutions (clanism) more inimical. Why? Because Islam doesn't stress forgiveness, amity, love thy enemy as they self...instead it tells ppl to turn rightful anger and hate into holy hate and anger.

I am afraid i don't share your observation, is my belief if Islam was not a dominant religious and another faith was, Somalis will be in each other throat beacuse of qabil
