I understand that there are safety concerns but I'm not discouraged by the bombings. There are many diaspora people working and living there just fine. Death is imminent no matter where we are.

Does anyone have family/friends who worked for government?

There is nothing more important than your own life. I am not sure which part of Somalia you are going to work but i advice you keep away from Mogadishu hotels, you are more secure in Mogadishu shanti towns than its 5 star hotels.
