I can't imagine losing either of my parents while I am miles away from them. Subhanallah

Inaayah just give your condolences personally if you can. If not call them or text them but never write it on Facebook.

Viva- Def huuno. They called me crying like an hr ago and so I said my condolences and I said I'm here to help in anyway I can but wallahi I'm not exactly sure what else to say
Alhamdulila both of my parents are alive so I can't even begin to imagine what my friend is feeling. I know everyone reacts to the death of a loved one differently but maybe someone who's lost someone close to their heart can give us some guideline
Wallahi ma garanyo, I feel useless. You don't want to suffocate he person but you also want to let them know you are there

I have lost one of my parents, so I know how it is like.
Give them space to grieve, it is only natural and the pain of losing a loved one never goes away no matter how many years pass. It will be a part of you from that moment on, as you have lost the most important person in your life.
A lot of people are insensitive, they laugh and joke and show no sympathy at the time of your sorrow. Just make sure never to be like those people, as you never forget their insensitivity believe me!
Be kind and be there for them and also try to console them by taking them somewhere maybe, like a day out where you talk and hang out. Show them that life has not ended and that there is always a future and In Shaa Allaah a bright future. Make them understand indirectly that their loved one is with Allah, and that we are all going their eventually. Allah always replaces things we lose with other things, and every test we face is one that he knows we can face, otherwise we would not be burdened with it.

Walaal waalidka Ilaahey janada ha ka waraabiyo, iyo umada Islaamka inta dhimatay o dhan, amiin.
May Allah SWT never make us amongst those who are insensitive, especially when someone is grieving. Ilaahy naxarista naga ma qaado. Amiin
Me and my friend are not in the same country so it's hard but I just sent them a message saying I don't want to bombard you with calls but I'm here and dhib kaste waan kula qaybsanaya
Ilaahey khair ha ka dhigo, amiin

If someone close to me died, I would not be on the phone letting friends and extended family know. You can count on our relatives to do that though, for better or for worse.

At times it's best to leave one alone for a little while, people handle grief in their own ways.
