World War 2 from Space

Postby Rambie » Tue Jul 05, 2016 5:53 am

If you guys don't want to read long articles to know about what happened 80 years, this is a very good alternative.
What catch my attention was:

How mighty Nazi Germany was under Hitler that UK, US, USSR, Canada, Nederland and Australia. had to team up against
the Ari race and barely succeed in defeating the German machine.

UK's superior scientific inventions and technological advancement forced to ship to US just to keep Germany at bey and win the war.

US condition to take over UK's oversee military bases & cutting relations with former colonies was the main reason UK declined as a super power.

I had no idea Japanese were kicking ass back in the days, even when they were defending their little islands they did so with brutal dedication and nationalism. I can't believe they are the same people who turned into making anime and automobile. Japanese people were something else walli.

Enjoy.

You have to understand that the soviet union defeated Germany not the West.
80% of German casualties were in the east.
Their best equipment and best troop fought the soveits.
The West faced new conscripts and the worst equipment and still struggled.

Yep. Even my college professor said that much. The Soviets defeated Nazi Germany and were also instrumental in the surrender of the Japanese after the red army devastated the Japanese army in Manchuria.

I just love the Soviet brutal tactics where they start the battle with massive barrage of artillery to soften up the defense followed by simultaneous ground and air assault.

Where it took the Americans weeks or even months on end to dislodge the Japanese, the Russians destroyed entire armies within weeks using these tactics

Germany was a freaking beast no joke :whew: :wow:

Japanese and Germans have my respect more than any other people. Their discipline and fierce love for their country almost led them to complete world domination.

But guys the biggest loser of the war were USSR they lost 25 million people while the whole war cost the lifes of 78 million people, at one point their civilians were bring sent to battle field without training or arming they dropped like flies in the face of Germans but I guess they got lucky because of the very harsh winter. Poor soviets after all their sacrifices US jumped in the last moment and claimed their victory.

In my opinion the most important reason behind Allies victory is mentioned in the beginning minute 16, the Frisch–Peierls Memorandum. Not
only did they provide the equations for the nuclear bomb but also many technologies that turned the war upside down especially in the sea.

Before that the US were getting their ass handed back to them in the Atlantic.
