Sure its a good time to invest "short term" right before a US presidential election?

Short term investment is gambling. I prefer the long horizon and only buy quality stocks and hold for as long as I can.

When I say short term I mean short, I feel uncomfortable calling it trading but basically a few weeks or couple of months. I was thinking of putting down some limit orders riding the emotions of the market.

You were supposed to be one of my hint givers smh

And expecting a feminazi to post trillions of relationship topics isn't?

Whatever you do BV stay far away from even entertaining the idea of trading short term, unless you know inside stuff this would resort to gambling one way or another, and todays financial systems are quite rigged, also stay FAR AWAY from derivatives and gambling sites such as 500plus, CMC etc

Most people build wealth long term, there is no quick fix

I wouldn't recommend short term investment at this time. You'll be setting yourself at risk rather than preserving capital (inta yar hagbada ka soo aruurisay).
So maandheey avoid it aan ku dhihi lahaa hadi kale yeelkaada.

Play the Gold game, gold shot up recently so ideally you would want to go the opposite AKA short gold.

DUST ETF: Pick this etf and ride it through the US election. Leverage ETF's can be very dangerous

https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/DUST

Individual stock wise look into Valeant Pharmaceuticals(VRX) or Chesapeake Energy Corporation(CHK), both companies are down but offer great potential.

If going down the gold route I am interested in physical gold for long term saving. That said having read a bit into it I can see the appeal of holding gold ETFs and DUST ETF with a stop loss...hmmm...worth considering

Valeant also looks interesting, I've been wanting to add pharma but haven't found the right entry point. Another to add to my due diligence list, thanks Fortan!

No gain without risk.Short term is gambling minus the casino.Risk takers buy and sell like crazy. Not every one can stomach the emotional aspect.

Short-term and investments don't go together. Investment implies longer term accumulation of wealth by getting adequate return on capital invested. Short-term implies speculation. People often conflate investing and speculating. Nothing wrong with speculation per se but it should not be confused with investing.

Dont gamble your money away. Speculative short-term trades are dominated by computers, expectations of serious gains with limited experience/insider info are pure fantasy sxb. You will not beat the machines. If you've got savings burning a hole in your pocket stick them in low maintenance vanguard ETFs and forget about them.

If you have no interest in financial stuff then passive is the way to go.

Fortran. . I got into chk when it tanked below $2. However it seemed like a bargain at 7 then it sank then rose. This is gambling.

FNMA is a long with huge upside if the government offload it's stocks. Huge huge upside but you never know when this may happen.
