Well,.....I always knew Arabs were previously GREAT- but I thought through Egypt not Saudi. Watching these documentaries---finally by an Iranian intellect---made me perk my breasts up and notice.

Didn't watch it but I know Saudis didn't contribute much. It is actually them that ruined Arab enlightenment.

The early intellectuals were mostly Iranians actually and the Arabic writing itself came from Persia.

u r correct. Majority of knowledge was collected from the neighboring Persia on the east and byzantine on the left. But what saudians did was collect the knowledge, and archive it well. Not to mention the language used---exclusively belongs to them. So, in essence Saudis contributed a lot. A language is a fundamental tool for knowledge to survive!

Yes ofcourse. All things come to an end but right now America cannot be challenged. Maybe we should wait until 2050 or 2100 to see the new top dog.
