The man is in a tough spot right in the middle of the East vs West tug of war. He's a great leader and eespecially economically as he took Turkey from being the sick man of Europe it was for a century to an economic Giant who doesn'treally need the EU

Turkey supplies the whole region with food, construction, and more and were the biggest food suppliers to Russia along with the Turkic Central Asian republics. All of this came to a halt when a Gulenist pilot shot the Russian plane

Hopefully they get back to being the economic giant they were before the plane incident and continue getting richer. Erdoganneeds to stop playing games with the Arab nations they don't give a shit about Turkey and are envious and hate them. He needs to shore up his house and protect his interests. Otherwise you'll end up like Libya, Syria, Yemen and every other shithole the Gulf States scum along with Nato have wrecked

We'll see if Putin let'shim get back to good terms and whether Turkey goes on to become a member of the SCO Shanghai Cooperation Organisation
