hahahaha this has been in construction for 20 years. I'm not being a hater, but the parking space there is for about 50 cars max...they made it orange as someone pointed out and yes looks like a soviet building. After all this time and delays, they couldn't afford upgrades to their decade old plan? Windows? Breathable windows? lol What about ventilation?

Why don't we have enough tap water but they're dreaming of some half-thought of building?

I can just see the traffic disasters this is going to cause. Also, they weren't smart enough to build further from the road. Why is this huge building RIGHT up to the street? Is aesthetic and safety not a concern? lol The bigger the better is all they're thinking.

It's a third world country, what do you expect? One that isn't even recognised and has no access to investment and expertise. This is what happens when you have no dowlad. Planning, environment, sustainability all fly out the window. These guys only care about profit. You can find the same shit in India, Nigeria, Brazil etc.

I agree. Profit is the end-game, and nothing else sadly.

All that aside, I just really hope they have certified engineers inspecting the foundation and quality of materials they're using. With that many floors subhanAllah, I don't want to imagine a collapse in 10+ years.

This compound construction has been paided by one business man cumar caydiid thats why it has taken so long to complete unless you can put your money where your mouth at there isnt much room for criticism.

But soviet style thats funny.

:usure: So because one man can afford a multi-floor building, there's no room for a critique on the obvious concerns that were overlooked? Was he the only one planning it also? I doubt it. And if he was, then we're really fked.

If more people forced those who had money enough to build things to put other issues into consideration, maybe Hargeisa wouldn't look like 5 companies built it.

Like I said, I just hope the building is being made correctly. There's no room for error.
