Somalia cities v ethiopian cities

Postby whitehartlane » Fri Sep 09, 2016 4:52 pm

You know how we do my tuulo v your tuulo, well I have always been fascinated how somalis have larger cities than our neighbouring countries considering their larger population by country.

Can anyone do the comparisons with pictures please?

Addis ababa v Mogadishu
Dirir dhabe v Hargeisa
Me ekele v Bosaso
Gondar v Baydhabo
Nazret v Gaalkacyo/burco
Jigjiga v beledweyne

Never mind kenya besides nairobi and mombasa their next largest human habitat is Dadaab.

Irregardless of their town planning for a nation of 100 mill its sad that if we made a TOP 10 largest combination of both countries cities ..we would dominate tht top 10 easily..

I dont get it, hows tht possible..

They have expansive cities but no population in comparison with how dense somalia cities are
Mog is dense
Harg is dense
Bos is dense
And so are all the others..

Me ekel gondar iyo dirir dhabe are large sqkm but its too open to challenge hargeysa on pop or even bosaso..

Bullshit none of their cities is more developed than Somali cities except may be addis, which is still shit hole though it's poured billions of aid and loans . And even Two of their top list is Somali owned diridhaba and jigjiga. When you look at Ethiopian cities the only thing that can catch your eyes is One or two nice lookin main roads (loan money) with nothing but bajaaj ( a sign of poverty) and of course better lighting at night because of the Ethiopian cheap Hydro electricity. If we have access to only a fraction of the credit they have access to, we too can build better roads. If you take out Ethiopian loan and aid projects there is nothing left for them, but we have plenty to boast.

In that case then remove Hargeisa and burao from the list we don't consider ourselve Somalians but Somali. You are the one mixing ethnicity and nationality .

The poster said Somalia cities vs Ethiopian cities so that means:

Mogadishu vs Addis

Kismayo vs Dire

Bosasso vs Bahir Dar

Galkayo vs Jigjiga

Beledweyne vs Nazret

Baidao vs Mekelle

Some Ethiopian cities are beautiful like Bahir Dar and Nazret, Hawassa and even Mekelle not bad.

The rest are mostly sewage and slums including Addis.

My favourite is Bahir Dar.

You have to give it to somalis, i think we have actually done quit well..

Like yuusuf said none of their cities with their aid and "speed of light" economic growth can match our cities..

We always slate off our cities but besides few capitals in subsaharan africa the average city is a shit hole.
