Sahan I have a question .. Why are you against somaliland"s recognition? Knowing what happened to your people, why are you still against their independence? Is having darood reer Abti has anything to do with it? Btw, I amnt trolling, I am serious.

The topic is about America . I am not against Somaliland's recognition , everybody in the world recognised they have pulled their HUMAN ressources together better than the rest of the somalis after the disintegration of that country , I am for the integration of the somalis in a single political sphere that the rest of the world calls a country . We do not live in a bubble or a planet by ourselves . The Kurds , the Touaregs , the Corsicans, the Britons of France , the Basques , the list of people who claim a "difference " based on historical ethno cultural cleavage is numerous . OURS IS PRIMITIVE , tribe !{ specially when you find out that every other human on this Earth had a tribe at one point in history . }

but with that being said i would trust trump more than i would trust mr. gates
one is predictable and the other one nobody knows what he will do, atleast with trump i know that he's type of personality wouldn't be up for population reduction or any of that other stuff the billionair boys club believe's in lol

I understand you would like to see one country, but should u not support the will of the people? The majority of landers Dnt want to re unite with Somalia. Now, for argument sake lets say somaliland is considering to re unite with Somalia, is there thing you would like to be done differently this time? Should Sland just go under xamar just like 1960? Or should they have demands, conditions? If so, what should Sland demand?

"integration of Somalis in a single political sphere" is simply a Pipe Dream. And asking for that is the definition of tribalism.

A people can be misinformed . Take the recent case of Georges Bush invasion of Iraq . The majority of the people were in favor { I was in the US during that time } for deposing Saddam back when Cheney and rumsfeld were telling the people that the US military would be welcomed as liberators as they did in France back in WW2 . We all believed it . It turned out to be something else . My point here is that people can be wrong .
The country the somalis gained in 1960 was the union of 2 separate entities carved by outside forces . Now if you look at the history of humanity problems always occur between people . The somalis have a history of solving problems between feuding clans in order to promote co-existence . We're not going back to times where people lived in small clannic structure who's primary mode of living was pastoral , we're in the 21st century .
Regarding the rest of your post my friend , I'm not in charge or simply qualified to tell anyone what should be negotiated , but i would very much like a federal union where the people in the regions / states FEEL{ it's all about how people feel } they have their destiny in hand . In a family there 's often rivalry among siblings but also RESPONSIBILTY .It seems we've forgotten about that part .
What's taken place NOW whether we're able to see it or not , is the ACTUAL construction of the Somali country done by the somalis . Absent war or conquest the union will be formed by consent and when pain , fear , calamity do not do it , TIME usually does the trick
