have you noticed how somaalis in eastern diaspora you never hear about anything bad from them, and how they are thriving in business maashaa Allah. What do you think is causing it? Is the welfare state crippling people, is it the availability of drugs, alcohol, gang lifestyles? or is it the media blowing everything out of proportion and creating the false paradigm?

How so? One never hears of similar Somali on Somali shootings or the "post code wars" of N.America/UK within the Arab Somali diaspora. Most young men are given the option of either staying in education/work or going back home by the governments.I have male cousins that enrolled into police forces which granted aren't the best, but it's a job.Your family is not safety net if you are male. In Syria things were completely different, full rights were granted.
Some may not have much ties to the Somali culture and many suffer from an awful amount of self-hate but overall their image is not as bad.

Ciyaalka casiir are the worst bunch, suffer from low self esteem/self inferiority complex. Add the failed Somali Canadian community on top of them too.

UK Somalis can be a headache, Dutch Somalis have become FOBBISH over the last decade while Scandinavian Somalis are simply criminals for the most part.
German/Austrian/Belgian/French/italian Somalis/ = hope of European Somali community.

There are too much stability in the West and everyone gets the fair share even if you are an immigrant. Unlike the Middle East and Africa, you are treated differently and you won't get a citizenship that easily so you have to double the effort to feed your family.

Welfare laws also encourage them to stay unemployed. They hand it out like it's a lifestyle. Unlike the Middle East and Africa, they don't give out welfares to anyone. The Gulf only give them to the natives and those with citizenship so again they have to double the effort to feed their family.

No security in africa and the middle east also, you never know when you'll be deported unless if you prove to work hard. Being lazy and unemployed will make you homeless and deported.

Somalis from Norway, Denmark, UK are similar struggling
Somalis in the US are generally struggling but they see the light at the end of the tunnel
Somalis from Somalia, Africa are the best

I am talking about groups, you have exception.. and this is my experience with them, as soon as someone says they are from any of those countries I have my prejudices against them activated.
