Somali women in olden times

Postby Futurist » Tue Nov 22, 2016 10:47 am

Were so classy. Each woman was dressed as though she was royalty. It seems like post war Somalis have lost some aspect of their self confidence and self respect. There looms over them a sense of cultural loss.

In a few generations we seem to have lost so much of ourselves, our confidence, the Somaliness that we used to exude. Where did we go wrong?

In a few generations we have gone from this. Perfectly modest in my opinion, culturally appropriate.

You can blame the war and Somalis unerring devotion to ayrabs. Even dhegcas themselves don't wear those hideous multicoloured bin-bags.

One of the benefits of civil war was the rise of hijab. Alx, for our beautiful women who cover themselves, I love niqab especially.

Your just mad islam has taught our women well

Futurist, modest compared to what women wear in the west, perhaps but not according to sharicah requirements of hijaab.

The two statements seem contradictory.

Wearing these Muzzie blankets causes somali women to develop a peculiar funky musky smell. Every time I pass Somali women I get a whiff of this stench and cardniom, coriander and ofcourse cumin, imagin such potion in a bus in summer time :damn:

Murdering, killing, looting is also against our sharicah. Yet it's been happening unabated for 25+ years. Go figure.

You're conflating two seperate issues. Those are worse but that's not what your topic is about.

That attire will only look good in slim women
we don't live in the 1800's anymore, both males and females have been eating
too much processed food. I have been seeing clinically
obese somalis lately and that's definitely not the best look.

advo definitely picks the jilbaab over traditional nomadic clothing

The irony is those who left Islam want to rub their gaalnimo to our noses constantly. They're insecure in their new "religions," hence the need to throw their gaalnimo around.
