since when are we oromos why would we have worshiped an oromo god. i think we would have been orthodox Christians. since the abysinian church was the strongest in the region. any way i think islam was the best thing that happened to us. somalis oo Christian ah wa somali iska weak jacaylka jesus ka sheekeynaya. when islam a religion a warrior religion. its suits our character. islam is part of our identity
Waaq Is Somali its just that oromos also believed in it.

The rough and scarce environment would have bred the same tough culture that is highly tribal even if qabil would've been in a different form. We probably would have become Christians if we were still colonized. Religion is a means to an end if becoming a Christian would ensure support and arms from a rival qabil a lot of conversations would happen.
True, this actually happend in british somaliland.
Dervish era.

if we had diversity interms of religion/md-hab AND gained independence somalia would have been more important than today. alot of countries would have interested in us and we would have finished by killing eachother

we r very luck. who thought the very tribal-society of yemen will end up like this?

they used to carry weapons all the time without single incident bc the blood was thicker than religion

same tribe who share one tribal sheikh r killing eachother in iraq

if somalis were christian they would lost their roots and assimilated into the amhara like the wollo amhara who have oromo roots and stayed dirty poor people

but mostly we would have sticked to our waaq culture like our borana cousins divided between kenya and ethiopia just like them
