I am a bit disappointed neverthlese I have to keep on going here are some more words from afkahooyo and how they came to be in the first place.

Talaabo= Taal + laabo= Taal ( mar cagti dhulka ayaad dhigto ay taala) laab (marna waad laabeysa intaad dhulka kor uga qaado) dabeeto waad fidineysa oo dhigeysa meesha ka horeysa. I think you can see it TAAL means at REST LAAB means LIFT so that is how the word TALAABO came to be. Waa TAAL hadana LAAB marka uun baad hore ama dib u socon karta.

Indho= Iin + dho' = Iin ( waxyeelo) dho' ( meeshay kaaga soo dalaq odhaneysay) oo ama wax aan laguu ogoleyn ayaad ku eegaysa ama cid baad ku cawryeysa. Eyes are the main inlet of all evil from wachting porn to looking at your neighbours wifes ass. They are the door through which if not controlled much unhappiness comes through.

Like most diaspora I speak “broken” somali and in my experience most of us can speak the basics proficiently. It’s gonna be interesting in the future as there will be diaspora who cannot speak somali at all.

It is a nightmare when people get uprooted from their language as has happened to many African nations in their own countries and now are referred to as Francophone countries (french speaking) or Anglophone countries ......you can get the list of African countries that belong to these camps and they are many may be 20 countries...... this is a cultural crime or languages genocide.......may Allah save us from similar fate...........
