Im unable to qoute my old posts regarding this issue with my mobile. But I will do it as soon as I get to access my laptop. Does anyone remember few months back when the likes of Smooth were frothing at the mouth, in their desperate quest to have the Ethiopian stooge, my fellow Ogaden, Abdirashid Xidig become the speaker of the federal Parlaiment. I filliped the argument in 180 degree by imagining a Farmaajo victory. I predicted that Farmaajo could ally himself with Habargidir and that he might also be loaded this time around, given his past experience. No body believed me, not even Grandpa who was partaking in the debate. Grandpa admit as much as U liked, what I was writing at the time, you didnt think it feasible. The odds stacked against him were so big, they seemed insurmountable. Thats not what I thought and I was right after all

Farmaajo could turn out to be three:

1) A wadani, won purely due to Somali nationalism; meaning the mps who voted for him were speaking for the masses who were in support of Farmaajo. Thus, this might be our first Somali politician in 26 years who is not tied to Kenya, Ethiopia, Djibouti strings.
2) A foreign stooge, given the presidential post to safeguard the interests of foreign entities to do with Somalia as they wish.
3) He is a looter. A self-interest fighter, who had fought to get the spoils of war.

I hope he's #1. I believe he is #1 until proven otherwise.

Wallahi you were absolutely spot on, I falsely predicted Sh Sharif victory but was wrong and thought it would be typical corrupt bought election. Farmaajo won through great political manoeuvring, support from the people.

HAG candidates votes in the first round was 200 votes
daroods candidates votes in that round was less than 100 votes

110 HAG votes gone for farmajo against garguurte to make isbadal

islamists from HG and murursade were behind it to get the PM post, some disliked just garguurte like Hawadle, all baadicade, half jijeele, southern dir, minorities

when im saying HG votes it doesnt mean hawiye it means all the non darod votes except few

this means farmaajo came through a movement not clan

A change has happened in Somalia in this election, and that change was against the Ethiopian-sponsored leaders. A faction within the Somali parliamentarians has led this effort and eventually the majority of the new parliament signed up to that effort. It was indeed a coup against all foreign meddling in Somalia. And I agree with Sahal: It had nothing to do with clan.

It is a good beginning in Somalia, insha'Allah.

Sahal I am confused how do you both break it down like this and at the same time breakdown how, when and how much money was exchanged?

How can it be a movement if it came down to who paid the most?
