Just a reminder. As many of you probably heard the extreme suffering and deaths of fellow Somalis in Somalia. Most Somalis from all over the world are taking action and are helping our own. It's on us.

It's very simple. Visit your local money transfer agency, there are relief funds all over the place. Choose which one feels right to you. Or ask the agency to connect you to individuals on the ground and go from there. These are desperate times for the victims of this drought. Please give, may Allah reward you.

We distributed emergency food with volunteers from MU to arriving drought victims in Lower Shabelle. We had an initial capacity to feed 100 families, but the continuously arriving families -- full of emaciated mothers and children -- having walked hundreds of miles in blistering heat and dust were too great to ignore. To accommodate more families, we rationed the emergency food for the original 100 families so that we could feed 200 families (2400 people). The campaign is far from over; the drought is far from finished. We are working extremely hard to bring emergency food to this drought-stricken victims so, please donate and share.
