MudFish Digging

Postby gegiroor » Mon Mar 06, 2017 8:42 pm

Not sure if Somalis use this trick to catch catfish around the Shabelle and Jubba rivers, but it seems in other parts of Africa, people developed tricks to find fish out of the dry dirt during the dry season.

I don't about the rest of Somalia but folks in Gaalkacyo have been mud fishing in the mighty Yameeys River for generations.

Bro Barbarossa,

Do you have any videos that show mudfishing in Somalia?

Due to the climate change that is persistently causing the endless droughts in the Somali peninsula, overwhelming majority of Somalis need to be settled along the coastline and need to adopt fishing. I hope we Somalis will look at this carefully, as asking more aid from the rest of the world every time we had droughts will, at some point, come to an end.

My 2 cents.
