The rebels are confined to Idlib where Al Qaeda is the strongest force, the South near Israel and Jordan and Damascus outskirts
And of course ISIS in the East fighting Assad's army and allies

Russia and Iran can change him easily. all russia wants is to be stakeholder, for iran, to protect hizbullahs backdoor. nasrallah is more important to iran than assad so any deal that protects iran interests like a sunni-led sectarian syria modeled after iraq and lebanon not a centralist sunni--led syria it will accept it but in exchange with yemen. saudis must accept shiite-led yemen if they want a sunni-led syria. saudis fear iran may ask the same for bahrain so they r rejecting it. russia says to sunnis form a govt and take the pm post but forget about changing the regime

good. having seen how turkey has changed since the russian intervention, i have learned to be realistic. the future of syria is unknown but i believe that all the russian efforts to save the regime will meet a failure. Iran has saved assad in 2012 but he started losing idleb, north hama, jabal al akrad in lattakia, qunaytira, daraa in 2015 for lack of manpower, this has forced the regime to evacuate palmyra to save the alawite villages after losing idlib and alghab plain.
Everyone knows Assad doesn't have manpower
The question is does Nusra and its allies have the manpower and supplies? They're cut off in some areas and not others.
Plus there's man power issues with them and FSA
