This is the same group that slaughtered a young Palestinian boy by slitting his throat like a sheep in the slaughterhouse after accussing him of blasphemy. These guys are no better than the Shia militias who support Assad.

They're a mix of many groups: Salafi jihadists, nationalists, and civil society groups. They seem to maintain the balance between the secular and Islamic groups. They also break off any alliance with Al-Qaeda.
