Djibouti is closer to Ethiopia than us.

It should be balkanized with afar regions going to eritrea, somali regions going to Somalia. That way, ethiopia will be landlocked by two enemies states.

The wars in the Horns of Africa is not the same as other countries/regions.

The Horns of Africa is like a curse, you hit one of your neighbor, the curse will hit back to you. Look at the histories in the Horns, you will notice the pattern.

The most recent one is the 1970s - 1990s conflict in the Horns where Ethiopia, Eritrea, Somalia and Djibouti all collapsed and ended up in a civil war. This all started by hitting your neighbor.

If Djibouti and Somalia ever go to war against each other then I will guarantee both will end up facing civil war and disintegrate.

Not to mention, Ethiopia, Eritrea and Somalia/Somaliland all share common interest in Djibouti so then all hell breaks loose.

Originally the north was called british somaliland/somalia, and the south italian somaliland/somalia. After independence they both formed to be Somalia. The name Somaliland was dropped in both countries. Somalia and Somali Republic are just synonyms.

Easy question to answer. In the case of Somalia the whole is less than the sum of its parts. Somalia is now what we call mamuul goboleed states.

The scenario goes like this:

Ictiraaf State: It is how fast our tanks roll down to Hargaysa. I will say Hargaysa succumbs to Djibouti in 12 hours or less. People welcome us by waving khat on one hand and the Iranian flag on the other hand. Confused bunch, I say.
