relax man, things are not as scary as they seem.
if youre into the science fiction , futurist community like me,

things are actually progressing much slower than expected.

I think what progresses slow is the good tech meaning anything they want to use to improve human life but the tech they want to use to kill humans they put in the work it needs and stash it away until they want to use it. They have used everything they've developed, atomic weapons, biological weapons, mechanical and electronic weapons, and they will definitely use the AI weapon. I also disagree with you as to how things are progressing, they recently discovered an 'Angel particle' that could raise quantum computing out of scientific aspiration into reality. Ten years ago, noone would have thought people would be carrying supercomputers in their pockets, people thought cellphones would progress incrementally until in one single shot everything changed so I wouldn't be so optimistic.

thanks for the link, i had to find a link to the scientific paper, its been a while that i read a physics paper.
fascinating.
but the majoarana particle/angel is only one route towards a working quantum computer.
its exciting and i understand how you are seeing this but things are moving slower than expected.
People expected quantum computing to be in use already by 2000, nanonic level computers integrated with your neurons( greybox) 30 years ago.
full holographic display instead of LED/LCD screens also 40 years ago.

There is startrek , do you remember transparent aluminum from the movie the journey home (star trek 4).
There is a transparent composite materiel with allot of aluminum in it, that is several times stronger than steel, its already in commercial production for over a decade now.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aluminium_oxynitride

going down the same polycrystaline route you have spinel which is much the same but better and easier to manufacture
https://www.nextbigfuture.com/2015/04/t ... m-for.html

but im going off topic a little..

i disagree millitary uses are where you find the leading edge.
they are not hiding the good stuff, and you can gauge even where the black projects are heading if you follow the science.

noone can hide shit like that.

any attempt to hide a breakthrough in technology, like someone cracking fusion or revolutionary weapons technology will be discovered when certain scientists stop communicating with others around the world,
then an educated guess will give you an approximate direction and people will follow.

That's exactly what I said, the tech they want to use to kill humans aka the military tech is where they put in much of the work and if they can commercialize certain part of that tech they'll do it but they won't commercialize the military part even if it saves lives.
Remember noone predicted the iphone and how it would change the world and kill off in an instant big rich companies and entire sectors of the world economy and create entirely new industries, it just happened so fast, even experts in the industry were chocked, Mike Lazaridis the guy who pioneered the smartphone was shocked when he opened up the iphone and said Apple Had Stuffed a Mac Computer into a Cellphone. They predict with precision tech advancement with Moore's law but they can't predict innovation with precision they make forecasts so noone will know how this 'Angel particle' will be used, the article says it will be used for quantum computers but this thing creates an explosion when the two matters collide and can be used as a bomb too and this shows their double talk that most people don't pay attention, they always publicize the benign part and hide the malignant part. I still believe things are moving fast but I guess we'll have to agree to disagree then, but I like you optimism. Go easy on the shrooms :D

Generally its the millitary applications where all the money is thrown at and we get the advances,
but not in the case of the electronics industry.
Japan and Taiwan are the center of the worlds electronics industry and they pushed commercial applications so much that commercial electronics is not too far from the leading edge in the military.
COTS benefited allot of the world.
The Iphone is the perfect example, Apple is does the design, but manufactures everything in Asia.
Its also not as impressive as you would think, but then again i was always anti-apple.
I owned an I-mate https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I-mate in 2004 till 2009.
It was a smart phone, customizable and i changed so much it was a frankenstien monster that worked.
So i was never impressed with Iphone.

As for the "Angle Particle" you fell for the name and hype, it will not be blowing up thank you,
but i can already imagine the possibilities with containing matter /anti matter using it as barrier somehow.
I like things that go boom but im not that interested in matter/antimatter because it would not be that usefull or feasible even if you solve containment issues, you still have production.
So its highly unlikely that we would ever see something as cool as anti-matter pumped X ray lazer mounted on a Space station above earth blasting asteroids to tiny pieces. We would have to settle for the plain old boosted fission pumped X ray lazer.

but digress again,

There are communities of hobbyist's out there that have been discussing the implications of technology applied to the military, Those parkour robots you are afraid of have been discussed for years.
They have been wargamed, how to use them, how to defeat them, the strategies, tactics the whole doctrine around warfare in the 2050-70's. Things are moving allot slower than expected, its not the technology, its the people behind it.
Millitaries are conservative and have to be dragged kicking and screaming into the new age, and only start adapting when they are defeated. Corporations only care about profit and think short term.

so no shrooms bro, only had them once , cannabis is my drug of choice..
lol
