Why is Somalia in the Arab League again?

This is probably a tired and boring topic, but is one of the main reasons I'm dis-attached from being a Somali. It's a third world country, very poor, uneducated, ignorant people fighting over trivial meaningless things like tribes, no inventions, no contributions to the world and to top it all off we wanna fit in with people who call us "abeed" behind our backs. Fuck Somalia and Somalis.

We're in it because we are geographically located near the Arabian peninsula. The Arab league helps strengthen ties with our neighbours. Why doesn't anyone cry about Egypt being in the African Union? Countries join unions for economic interests NOT on the base of ethnic lines.
