Me around 24-5-6 inshallah no more than that. But if iam broke and cant afford the big aroose
which costs thousands these days which include hilton hotel large amounts of food for people i dont even know a limousine, iam sorry my future wifey
then you have to wait or we just get married in a local masjid select only close friends and family and rent a local hall. The honey moon has to wait.

What i dont understand is the people that spend £10000 on their wedding and even paying like the uncles and dad of the family of the wife £100 each and bringing in boxes of khaat some mans even take out loans. What should be the minimum that a nikah aka maheer should be and what should be the maximum time limit between a maheer and arouse maybe 1 year, and have any of you guys heard of any wives or family helping out the groom.

there is no fixed amount for meher as far as i know, the gal decides the amount she wants and the the man is given the opportunity to either except it or not. if he says yes, t the marriage is done. if on the other hand he thinks the requested amount is too much for him then he has to either negotiate with the gal or call it off. but mostly raga somalidu dumarka wey iskalaheshiyaan before hand.

as for the time between the nikkah and the aroos, their is no fixed time . actually the woman becomes your legal wife as soon as the nikkah takes place. aroos is an addition to make families from both parties happy. if you cant afford it, just leave it. it aont a religious obligation as far as i know.
