I haven't read any work by Al-qaradawi. I think he's a good sheikh, unlike the sellouts at Al-Azhar. You have actually given me a good idea; I'll google for his works and read it. If I find it, it's possible that most of his works are written in Arabic, so, if you read Arabic, I'll post the links here.

I have read many of Fatwas and opinions. Masha'Allah, he is possibly one of the well-read and educated sunni scholars alive. If not the most educated. He is very realistic...go to Islamonline.org.....u can find mroe information there.

SoMaLiSiZz, look it at this way; a sheikh tries his best, he issues fatwas, he gets 2 ajrs if he's correct and 1 ajr if he errs.

There are conditions sister. When making fatwas scholars have to look at the environment we live in and the attitudes of the people. We live in an era when sex is everywhere. So obviously there are more temptations everywhere. On tv, in magazins, books, billboards, etc. etc.

Also, marriage isn't as easy as it used to be. Many sheikhs said oral sex and masturbation is ok in certain conditions..Oral sex is allowed to either revive a marriage or for couple wanting to spice it up. While masturbation was allowed for teens and youths who couldn't afford to get married, although fasting is highly recommended.

SoMaLiSiZz, I just checked a link about the issue. It appears you might have misunderstood the sheikh. This is an excerpt from the link:

He also gives support to the view of Sheikh Al-Qaradawi that oral sex or kissing private parts of the spouse is something viewed disgusting to Muslims, but if the aim is just kissing (without having constant indulgence in it) it's not sinful to do that, but people of high morality normally keep away from that, as not to give in to imitating non-Muslims.”

SoMaLiSiZz, where's your source where sheikh Al-qaradawe said oral sex is not haram? In my link, sheikh Al-qaradawe doesn't explicitly say oral sex is halal; in fact, he says it's disgusting, what's ok is is just kissing (without having constant indulgence in it), and even that people of high morality normally keep away from that. Clearly, the sheikh doesn't say oral sex as known in the West is halal.

The other thing, I have visited Islamonline a few times in the past, the link above I got it from Google, and I posted it just to know what the sheikh said about the issue; I do not place a positive/negative trust on any site.

No, I don’t know him and I never read anything he wrote. And I am not planning to know anything about him. But if you ask me Sheikh Cumar faarukh or Boqol-soon, yes, I know them and I listen to their Muxaadars.

Muslims always like to pick and select words and take them out of context in order to show that some sheikh is good or not good.

I agree with Arabman, If the intesion of the sheik is to spread the word of Allah in good faith he will always recieve jis Ajr wether he ers or not.

And besides, didnt the quran say: "Ina Nisaaukum Xarathun Lakum Fa'tuuhum min xaythu maa shi'tum" ??

The fact that many Western critics regard him as dangerously radical or as a supporter of violence is enough to regard him a good sheikh.
