Oromos Come In

Postby Jabuutawi » Thu Jun 14, 2018 11:12 pm

What are these Tigrays saying? It is du'a in their language and the way they say "Ameen" is same enunciation as Muslims do. Are there Tigray Muslims? What % are Muslims?

most oromos do not speak their language/ only the raya oromos who live among them, in southern tigray, speak their language, and they have mostly been assimilated into their culture-but retain many oromo traits and they even speak tigrinya with an oromo accent.
as far as muslim tigrayans go-i hear different numbers-from 15% to 30%, so I am not sure, but one thing's for sure, they're a minority in an ocean of Orthodox Christians.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tigray_Region#Religion

according to this, it's just 4-5%, which I doubt.

15% to 30% is a substantial number that can make noise in Tigray's politics. They can be very strong vocal group. I didn't know it was that high. Good to know.

Could be, but I wouldn’t know. I don’t speak either language.

It’s something about the Tigray region, just not sure?

I know recently the Irob( Christian Sahos) have been protesting about the TPLFs role in the Tigray region, and how they’ve been treated unfairly.

They are South Arabian semites just like the Amhara just like how similar Oromo and Somali sound.

Semitic invaders: Tigray, Amhara, Jeberti arrived centuries ago into the land of natives like the Oromo Dir and Hawiye
