Like many Somalis, Hawiye members trace their paternal ancestry to Irir, the first son of Samaale. According to many documented sources and historians, the patriarch Samaale arrived in northern Somalia from Yemen during the 9th century and subsequently founded the eponymous Samaale clan. Two of the major clans the Hawiye and Dir trace descent from Irir the son of Samaale, who in turn traces his geneological traditions to Arabia of the Quraysh Banu Hashim lineage through Aqiil the son of Abu Talib ibn Abd al-Muttalib, who was the Uncle of the Prophet Muhammed.

Why did you omit the other major clan?

Listen you half breed, don't ever compare the mighty and pure DIr and Hawiye to a bunch of breeds like Daroods and Issaqs. These kids who are changing wikipedia pages to insult Dir and Hawiye and their ancestors as some Arab sex raider are just bitter because they never claim full Somali.

Because Irir was never Arab. Bitter Darood kids keep chaining the origin of Irir in Wikipedia to make them seem as confused as Daroods and Issaqs.

Its really sad to see these filthy Daroods trying to change every page in Wikipedia to some Arab origin because they feel left out of Somalia's ancient history.

Many documented sources and historians, including Bughyat al-amaal fii taariikh as-Soomaal by the historian shariif Caydaruus confirm that.

^ A point of clarification: The above mentioned arab historian used medieval Wikipedia as primary source.

^ The eminent historian shariif Caydaruus is Somali, and part of his researches were gathered/obtained from elders/leaders of the major clan that claims Quraysh Banu Hashim lineage through Aqiil the son of Abu Talib ibn Abd al-Muttalib.

No, of course not. Both tribes, according to various genome test members of those tribes have taken, do not carry the j1 markers, which basically defines an Arab, or a person of MENA descent*. The Arab fore-fathers birthing Isaaq & Darod is almost entirely a myth fabricated centuries ago in order seek closeness to the Islam which its influence (at that time) was spreading at a relatively fast speed.

*This is excluding the Arab Salaxs, Mehris, some Warsangelis, etc. who've shown signs of J markers, either through assimilation to larger tribes, or with the late arrival to the Somali peninsula to strengthen ties with the local population via business and other accords.

If you are a descendent of an Arabian sex raider, doesn't mean you have to lie and make up stories to tarnish the pure tribes of Dir and Hawiye.

This kush dude has been at it for nearly 20 yrs (as evidenced by how long his account has been on Snet) yet he seems to not find a single shred of evidence that exhaustively backs his claims that, Isaaq & Darod are (supposedly) the birth descendants of Arabian sex raiders, and are not native to Africa, let alone the HOA.

If I hadn't seen anyone more masterful in his trolling skills....

Keep it up.
