Somali people in the west stop telling non-somalis or anyone that your family back in the day was VIP or millionaires

It's happened several times where I'll tell someone that I'm somali and then they'll be like "my buddy ahmed is somali too and his dad was the (insert very high position of government) of somalia...the amount of times I've heard this and u just KNOW it's bullshit and realistically there's only very very very few somali politicians over the past 100 years that are worth saying you're related too...why are you bragging about being related to leaders of an ineffective government to people in the west? lol
