Iraqi Elections and future!!!!!

Although it is too early to judge, it seems to me that the Iraqi's have heeded to common sense and are attempting to avoid a brutal civil war, simply because they have widely particpated (more peacefully this time) in the current parliamentary elections. I believe this is a brave decission in the right direction, and what the Iraqi's need right now is unity, and elect a parliament that represents all Iraqi's. All the surrounding countries, from Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Iran and Kuwait have implicitly or explicitly supported the invassion and a regime change in Iraq. But now, they realized that it is very dangerous to their own security of Iraq engulfed with a civil war. After the elctions, the Iraqi's can ask the foreign forces to leave Iraq, becase the Shia's led by Sistani and the Sunni's are strongly opposed to the presence of those forces in Iraq. But it is an excuse for them not to leave and stay when Iraqi's are killing each other. 
To the Iraqi people and pray for a speedy reconciliation among them.
"Al Qaeda was humiliated during the elections, after having proclaimed that voting was against Islam, and that good Moslems should rise up and prevent this abomination. About 70 percent of eligible voters turned out, and there were few incidents of violence. The word on the street was that al Qaeda had called off its anti-democracy campaign. This bothered al Qaeda so much that they issued a statement denouncing it. But al Qaeda claims that they did attack the voters rang hollow. The Sunni Arab community had decided to either vote, or not try and fight those who were. In areas where al Qaeda still has a presence, local tribal or Mosque based militias put out armed guards to keep al Qaeda away from the polling places. These guys are usually shooting at government or American troops. But on election day, they were left alone by Iraqi troops, as everyone turned out to protect the voters from terrorists."
