Don't you think the solutions for the problems of Somalia lies making disarmament, since the breakout of the civil war and the collapse of the former government it seems the country is wased with weopens where some people would tell you they have it for their safety since there is no law and order and nobody can guarante their security,If you look to Mogadishou now the majority of people who perished that city died even though they were civilians and were not involved any two millitias fighting, but this so called coward warlords and their millitias when they have war they simply fire indiscriminetly and infact most people died where in their own homes,so the first step for this so called government and Benadir governors should be to ban firing any weapons in the city and should interfer if any two millitias fight and even take sides. In the olden days in Somalia we always had to tribes fightin or even two subclans within a tribe and it seems this would always be the case, but fortunately before they used knives, sticks, stones or wharever which gives you a higher chance of atleast survival, but now we have the latest weapons which are deadly and I believe the first step should be cleaning the country from this.

gobdoon, unfortunately, your proposal is simplistic while the problem is way too complicated. Let's make a scenario that resembles your proposal; suppose you're a fan of basketball, your experience with basketball doesn't extend beyond casually playing in the neighborhood parks and as a spectator of some NBA games- suppose the New York Knicks' owner out of nowhere come to your home and offered you coach Larry Brown's job and several $millions. Now, what do you think you can do to lead the Knicks at least to the playoffs? I mean, you aren't even a spectator of the playing field of Somalia.
