Laughing Laughing @" Somaliland waa gobol soomalia ah!" or "Afweyne ilaahey ha noo soo celiyo".
Mayee, caydiidow you have good point there , I tend to believe your account . It reminds me of the situation in Hargeysa in 93/94 when people roamed around with weapons and yet everybody kinda knew who was who .The very few folks from Djibouti who would venture to come for their , "fasaxa xagaa" used to think they wouldn't make it back alive , yet they would get accustomed very rapidly.

Caydiid,

You sound like a reasobale dude and I applaud you for that, and the fact that you braved and faced the marauding killing machines of Mog. However, your pragmatic approach of Xamar being peaceful does not hold water my friend. Despite living in Qurbo, we are well informed as much as those of you living inside, if not more. Maybe it's just we are not looking things from the same perspective, you, being satisfied with a lesser number of daily body bags and me, expecting no body bags at all, so if it makes you happy, I hope you enjoy your life to the fullest (If that is possible) and may Allah bring back the serenity that we all knew prior to the current madness.

A/W

Indhacade area's are more peacefull than Boston, actually you can drive from mogadisho to marcca none stop.
I dont know why the place attract negative media reports although I can understand sir lugooyo's motives as he always like to paint MOG is nothing without the daarood's and I sometimes agree with him Mog will be a dirty city without them as they make up of the most of the cleaners.
You see we have to impriase of the huge tasks they carry out on daily bassis without proper tools, some times using there hands to sweep the streets.

SIR,

"Maruading gangs"???? What year are you talking about? Today death in Mogadishu by unlawful means is reported by websites -and when was the last time you read about dozens, NO, say 3 people killed in Mogadishu???????? There are some tribal skirmishes and where dozens die but that happens in all over somalia.

"well informed"???? This is pure fabrication brother. I thought I was well informed when I went to the fadhi ku dirir places in London. I thought I was well informed when I listened to the BBC and semi-clanist websites. I thought I was well informed when I read GAALO relays. But I soon realized that the information from Mogadishu is tainted in favour of a particular discourse.

Free your mind brother- and see the situation in Xamar from a neutral angel. I am not claiming that it is heaven- neither I am claiming that everything is OK.There are targeted killings (but that happens in NY), There is clear poverty (the us too has poverty), there is injustice, there is tribalism etc

Brother, I was living in the west, got educated and saw everything from a western perspective; Peace, war, poverty, richness were relative units and if it is not western peace, western poverty and western materialism- I thought everything else sucked. But on coming to somalia I realized these are relative units and some somalis are better off leaving in Mogadishu than Toronto, MN, London etc.

May Allah bring peace and harmony to all somalis. Harmony and prosperity would never be gained through negativity. IF OUR EDUCATED/HAVS base and form their thoughts on somalia based on tribalism and a sickening tribal discourse- somalia would for ever be doomed to perish.

Jr. Call your dad, I can't have conversation with the son and the father at the same time. Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

Awoow,

Last time I been in Xamar doesn't have to do with any anything, the informational superhighways are crisscrossing, full of the latest details and are at our fingertips, so Awoow, I am as well informed as the next guy who lives in Bakaaaro, if not more.

Demolitionman,

What was your nick b4 you changed it?

Sir
Jr is the name i took when my youngest wife refuse to share mrs qudhac
with my elder wife, so i said from today you are mrs qudhac jr and she accept it. Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing
Back to the topic, the only problem that xamar has is the Airport and the Seaport which is remain closed to this day apart from that the city shares
the crime rate with any other major city in africa.
For instance Boosaaso population is around 200.000 and the murder rate
is like 2% a year, and mogadhishu population is around 2 m and the murder rate is around the same as that of Bosaaso, so mugadisho has more murder since it has more population.
Therefore since it has too many murders it will be on the headlines and the front pages, but in genaral it has a relative peace that you see in Kismayo
or baydhabo,i conclude that the city is unfairly proscuted by the amateur Journalist that sweaping across the city.
