I've learned an important lesson in life this week.

Postby The-Screw » Fri Jan 13, 2006 1:54 pm

I work at this high-rise building (Nationwide Insurance) in Downtown Columbus, and Every Thursday for the past year and a half, this man walks in...a white man, in his 50's, about five foot 8' wearing a hard-hat(there's construction on one side of the building) takes out his laptop and building blueprints and chit chats with me while i read the paper and kick it. i'm not the type to ask questions and stuff, so in a year and a half all i got to know about him was his name and the company he's with. so as he was leaving the yesterday, a co-worker walks in, they greet each other at the door, and my co worker asks me if i know who that is, i'm like yeah of course i know who that is, he's so and so...so he's like, no no , do you really know who that is, at this point i'm suspicious so i let him explain what he's trying to tell me, he starts with his name wich of course i already knew, and he tells me this man is worth $ 800 Millions, that he owns this building and 10 others in the city and in new york, this focker flies in in his private jet every thursday to get an update on whats going on, he has no security detail, he does not wear fancy suits, he drives the same Jeep every week, and has an older model nextel phone, there no way, in a million years anyone would think this man is worth $ 800 million!

i'm shocked... all this time i assumed he was probably a building manager or something, they say don't judge a book by it's cover but damn....$ 800 focking million dollars!!!!

how would you react? would you calaacal and ask for money? look miskiin? talk of financial hardship when he's around and hope that he writes you a check? hahaha

Very Happy

Screw,

As you have already indicated, his lifestyle tells a lot about the dude. If he is flashing an old fashioned nextel phone and a worn out Jeep, he must be the biggest miser in the wide world. What is the use of accumulating that much wealth if you are not enjoying it. If your body/material is not talking money, then that money ain't worth sh!t, and please don't open your mouth and waste a breath of drilling for sympathy, stay put and stick with your $200 paycheck.
