Whatever happened to the Reer Jilib?

I have been trying for some time to contact friends from the time I spent in Jilib, with no success. While most were Hawiye, Mj and Barawanii, I did know a number of the Gosha.

I have been piecing together a story from what I have been able to glean here. If I have it right, the Gosha were kicked off their farms during or after the big drought in 1992. I am guessing they made it into Kenya and were evacuated from there.

I have recently heard that there is a large "resettlement " camp in Oaklahoma and I believe I read earlier that there is another in Canada. Does anybody know the whole story?

How are the Gosha here in the West doing? Does anyone have contact information better than going through the BBC Somali language programs?

Gosha ppl are doing very well indeed in Uncle Sam's country, they are stuffing themselves with fried chicken and beans and popping out like rabbits, they assimilated sooner than anticipated and they discarded their Somaliness and renamed themselves Shan Baro. I was reading a website dedicated to them and they, according to their roots, are from five different tribes and that is why they are adopting this new name. For more info, check out this website.

I am ashamed to say I never heard of Gosha. But it sounds they were a clan from the oppressed indigenous(most so-called Somali Bantus are actually the original owners of the land) clans.

I am not surprised they denounce their Somaliness. I would if I were in their position. In fact I am surprised anyone will confess to being a Somali.

This is by far the nastiest, most evil, most useless, most hostile, most inhuman race that ET bastard they call god has ever dreamt of.

Good luck to the Goshi.

Abdi Hutu,

I told ya b4, I would rather be a Jareer than Hutu even though I have no clue if they are two distinct races or not, cause to me, they are both counted as the dark forces with the kinky hair, except of course Yalaxow (soft hair)
