Some one sum up what is he saying.. going on..what is she asking him...etc
Thanks in advance
First question, "Why'd you walk away from the money?" He answered, "I wasn't walking away from the money. I was walking away from the circumstances." Meaning, that after being "small time," they were now ready to push him through to the "Big time," and he wasn't ready for it, and all the b.s that comes with it. Makes reference to mariah's $100M deal, and how 3 months later she was "crazy." And martin lawrence also. basically referring to how the new found "plateau (his word) drove them over the edge, with all the people pulling at them, and the demands and pressures that came with now being "The Man." He also alluded to how the "creative differences" drove a wedge between him and Comedy Central, causing him to rethink his decision to sign a deal of such magnitude. He makes a lot of veiled references to the producers, but it really amounted to the fact that he got scared shitless when he was made "The Man," and flew off to Africa without telling anyone (wife included. Only his Brother knew), in order to rethink his position. He still seems unclear about it all, though he said he's going to return. He alludes to the fact that there is some animosity still between he and Neal Brennan, his close buddy and co writer. Referes to his "social conscience," that when he was working on a sketch for the new show, where it involves a pixie in blackface, a white cast member laughed "too hard." Making him(Dave) think that he was beginning to push it too far, causing him to rethink his position on his brand of humour. Overall, no drugs, no crazy farm. Just disillusionment on his whole rise to fame, and the responsibility that goes with it. But pointedly, no reference to Islam, or his friend in South Africa. Closes off by saying he wants more control over the DVD revenues in order to donate it to charity, and that he's willing to rebargain again in good faith with Comedy Central.
