Jibouti Can't be Guantanamo-Camp X-Ray?

Till now, this is merely an allegation that Jibouti was used by the CIA as part of their rendition program. Though nothing surprises me these days, I find this hard to be believe. Let us not forget that this is not "conclussive", this report is an analysis based on statements allegedly made by 3 former (Yemeni) detaines.

"In their statements, they gave detailed descriptions of travel times, changing climates and daylight hours which, although not conclusive, Amnesty says suggests they were held in Djibouti, Afghanistan and somewhere in eastern Europe."

The question that bugs me is, can this be possible? How?

This place has changed a bit, but what is this ignore button? Can one delete other's contribution on threads h/she started?

They were innocent people who were tortured and then released. Imagine if Mad Mac was their torturer? I have no clue about Jiboutian politics, and my bad, if that kind of thing is now happening in Jibouti, I thought people will object to it, and revolt against the president. What do you think of the report, is it accurate?

I watched a Spanish documentary, and tell Kamal (your cousin Laughing ) that successive Spanish governments tortured Basque seperatists including rape, while openly lobbyying globally in anti-torture human rights campaigns in South America, and the rest of the globe. Those things happen in most countries.

as for my cousin's country of birth Laughing i think there is no country in this world that doesnt use some kind of torture. i remember one time i got into trouble with the police back in djibouty and while been held with couple of friends all we heard during the night was the screams coming from down the hall where some poor guy was been tortured.

people geting tortured isnt new in djibouty, but americans doing it in our soil is alarming and frankly makes the hair at the back of my neck rise-up Laughing i have no idea how accurate the report is, but what could the public do if they didnt have a clue about what was going on?

Mowhawk: You're right here, mate. But allow me some corrections. It was not the Spanish Government (although there were politicians on the issue) which was torturing ETA prisoners, but the Police itself. When the Spanish Government discovered the tortures, the policemen (Guardia Civil) were sent to prison and they're still there (the famous case, in Spain, of general Galindo and his corps). There was also a terrorist group called GAL which was anti-ETA and was integrated by policemen. But they all were detained and sent to prison. This terrorist GAL killed some ETA members.

ETA was a separatist group in the beggining. But when Franco died, it became a terrorist group. In other hand, there are not reports about raping women. Not a single ETA female has denounced rapes until now. When terrorists are catched and sent to interrogatory sessions, they usually denounce tortures, but there are always lawyers and doctors who have to certificate that. Anyway, sometimes the Police goes beyond the human rights and cross the red line. But those policemen usually end down by law.

About the Djibouti issue, I don't know what to say. But probably it's true. There is a great controversy now not only in Spain, but in the whole Europe about the transport of 'suspected' Al Qaida members in CIA airplanes using European airports. It's supposed that no country in Europe can allow a illegal flight to use European airports. But, actually, USA is using European airports for illegal purposes.

The law is the law, and it has to be respected in all circumstances...

Say hi to my cousin Biko Laughing

Mad

Welcome back. So, Mr intel, what were you doing in the Horn? What was the cover for the charitable causes helping people like building wells and schools in Western Somalia (Ogadenia)? What was discussed in the recent meeting in the American Embassy in Nairobi between some Somali elders and the Yankees in relation to "terrorists" hiding in Mogadiscio? Laughing If captured where will you detain them, Diego Garcia or Jibouti? Laughing

Biko

Did you believe Mad's crap? Laughing
