Somalia: Gun-battle resumes in north Mogadishu
Mogadishu 08 May. 06 ( Sh.M.Network) A fighting has again broken out in north of Mogadishu, capital of Somalia on Monday, where opposing militias exchanged heavy gunfire after lull of yesterday’s fighting.
As sources close the scene of the gun-battle at Siisii, north Mogadishu say the fighting resumed after mediation between the two warring parts has failed.
There is no official confirmation on the death toll of the latest fighting between militia loyal to the Union of Islamic courts and others linked with alliance for restoration of peace and counter terrorism.
But reports from Madina hospital in south Mogadishu say at least four injured civilians; including one student have been brought to hospital so far.
The fighting has intensified into new areas, with residents began fleeing of the war.
