GRANT, GRANT, GRANT: YOUR HELP IS NEEDED

Postby LionHeart-112 » Wed May 17, 2006 4:13 pm

There are people on Snet that maybe interested in the Peace Corps but don't know a lot aobut the experience..tell us few thing about it..I have few questions....

would you recommend the experience or should college graduates look for work?

would u finish graduate school before u volunteer or would suggest we take advantage of the Fellows program which pays some or most of your master's degree at selected universities?

how old were you when u joined the peace corps?

that's all for now....look forward to your responses.

Lion,

I was 23 when I joined. I had a bachelors degree in history. They gave me three months training in TEFL.

If you have the grades, the money, and a goal, pursue the advanced ed now. If you don't have the money or a goal, the Peace Corps can help you find yourself and give you advanced educational opportunities.

I recommend the experience to anyone.

Great...thanks Grant.. good advice. I think i'm gonna do pursue a graduate education first then volunteer. I can do more with higher education and more experience...I don't have the money, but federal loans will do for now. Smile
