"alotta people see Muhamad Ali as their greatest hero!!.. what is he done for them?"

Muhammad Ali was part of the civil rights activists; he has championed and fought for the causes and rights of African Americans. That's why African Americans regard him as a hero, not because he was a great boxer. Being a great athlete is an individual accomplishment, something that has little to do with being a "hero." You can't even find the word "hero" mentioned in this link:

The Arabman Abdi Bile introduced the Somali pride to the world. He boasted about how much Camel milk his people drank.

Abdibille is Somalia's first sports ambassador if you like. He was to every Somali an Idol

Well, Islam discourages pride or being boastful about someone/something. Islam encourages to be humble.

"are there more somali medal winners or is he the only one?"

If we are talking talking about an international gold medal, I think he's the only one. On the other hand, there are Somalis who have won medals in US*/European college and regional (Africa, Middle East) championships. I personally knew (don't know about his whereabouts) one track & field athlete who has won a medal in Seychelles. I used to play chess with him and others. I forgot his name, but his nickname was "La taliye" (used to frequently make comments about what move to make in a chess game).

Yes, Kambuli... I live in Alexandria, Virginia. Don’t tell me you live in Northern Virginia or Washington Metropolitan Area. if that is the case, how about a blind-meeting inabti? Laughing

You know what; I met him eight months ago while I was trying to send some money. By the time I was living, he gave me his business card and the card read Abdi-bile Cabdi. I was like Wow, we have another Abdi-Bale Abdi in here. And to my surprise, he said, “Waa isagiiye, Xawaalada Cusub Suuq haloo yeelo”
