VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. Virginia Beach religious broadcaster Pat Robertson, who is 76, says he can leg-press two-thousand pounds.
His effort is recounted on the Christian Broadcasting Network Web site, in a posting headlined, "How Pat Robertson Leg Pressed Two-Thousand Pounds." Robertson founded C-B-N and is host of its television show, "The 700 Club."

Clay Travis of C-B-S SportsLine-dot-com's online magazine called the assertion impossible in a column this week, writing that the leg-press record for football players at Florida State University is 665 pounds less.

C-B-N spokeswoman Angell Vasko did not immediately return telephone calls seeking comment today. She told The Virginian-Pilot newspaper of Norfolk in an e-mail that C-B-N's posting is correct.

According to the C-B-N Web site, several people witnessed Robertson's leg press, the site says. It provides a link that C-B-N says shows Robertson performing ten repetitions of a one-thousand-pound leg press.
