About The Islamic Courts Banning the WORLD CUP

Postby Gedo_Boy » Sun Jun 11, 2006 1:56 am

Everybody please listen to 1 verse (6) from sura hujuraat.

"O you who believe! If a rebellious evil person comes to you with a news, verify it, lest you harm people in ignorance, and afterwards you become regretful to what you have done."

WE SHOULD EXERCISE WISDOM & PRUDENCE. DO NOT BE HASTY !!!!!

Personally, I find it hard to believe the courts banned the World Cup, if for no other reason than the fact that the courts have WAY BIGGER issues on the agenda now than the World Cup.

It doesn't make sense to me that they would be going after soccer at this point in time. Don't drugs/alchohol & other violent crimes deserve more attention?

I think we should understand that there is a serious propoganda & psychological warfare campaign going on by the warlords and their Ethiopian and foreign counterparts.

There are gunmen everywhere in the capital. Some of them can PRETEND to be from the Islamic Courts and create the type of conditions that would turn the popular sentiment against the courts.

The warlords were doing that earlier, trying to frame the courts for murders & executions in the capitol.

WHAT WE MUST WAIT FOR before we jump to conclusions is independent confirmation from officials of the courts who make a PUBLIC & OFFICIAL PRONOUNCEMENT that watching the World Cup is banned.

Until then, withhold your judgement.

^^^^ I'm not saying I know for sure whether or not the wadaads banned the World Cup, I'm just saying nowadays it is very hard to distinguish between truth & falsehood.

Abu Hurairah said, "The Prophet (sallallahu alayhe wa sallam) said,
'Before the Hour comes, there will be years of deceit, in which a truthful
person will be disbelieved and a liar will be believed; and the
insignificant will have a say'." (Ahmad)

Somalis are engaged in their own war at home, so eyes should be focused domestically, not on Iraq.

And unless you know something I don't, I don't think gay marriage is an issue in Somalia.

I'm trying to say don't believe it until you hear it from the (proverbial) horse's mouth.

That is, until you hear it from an official of the Islamic Courts, don't assume it's the truth.

that's what that Quran aya commands us to do.

A lot of blood has been shed on he said/she said BS that people didn't even take the time to verify beyond a shadow of a doubt.

"Innocent Until Proven Guilty" right Confused

BTW, even that has its roots in Islamic Jurisprudence.

The burden of proof rests upon the accuser, not the accused.

I don't think right now in Mogadishou is the time to watch football because of all the fighting and blood shed, unless you want to watch it privetly in your own home, but when things calm down and get beter I don't think they would ban it forever,it's only temporary measures and it aplies watching it in public.

It was the same people who killed, molested, raped and be littled mothers and children. But today they are religious. A new agenda. I will not fall for this. The leader of the Islamic courts looks like a elf. He has red eyes (drugs of course).

That's how these theocracies operate. Afghans were starving and the Taliban banned kites. They banned widows begging in the street because women shouldn't be out of their homes unsupervised. They focus on the little things because they need the immediate power-rush. It's easier to ban the World Cup than to rebuild infrastructure destroyed by 16 years of war. Especially since the WC was taking so much attention away from them after their dramatic victories--these people sure like to be in the spotlight.

^^^^ so far you all you've given was your opinion & half-baked conjecture about the nature of theocracy.

This wouldn't hold up in court. Work on developing a solid case against the Islamic Courts in Mogadishu.
