I will never let my mother listen to these awful songs!! Ufff --- I give mom better treats! Like pay for her to get Spa facial, fly her to her best friends for the weekend, send her flowers unexpectedly, take her to the zoo--every other weekend-- & inshallah next summer i am taking her to Safari trip to see live lions & elephants since she was so interested when My husband & I told her about our trip to Kenya last year! Very Happy Rolling Eyes

A hadith: Al janatu Taxda aqdaami umaha ( spelling!)- Heaven is under the feet of your mother. I listen to the Hadraawi song every time I hear that my mom is sick or when I feel lonely.

I heard Hadrawi recount the event that made him compose HOOYO. He was traveling on a lorry (SITEEY) in the Afgooye area. There were several people on the siteey and it was hot and the road was pumby. A toddler sitting on his/her mother's knees cried for attention. Realising that he needed milk- the mother without considering the fact that there were men on the lorry (somali are shy to show their breasts) this mother started breastfeeding the baby. That is how Hadraawi got the idea for the song.
