Soccer is just a BS game

It's a bullshit game. I don't understand its popularity.

First of all, because of the stupid off sides rules (I'll get to that) scoring is inredibly low. This means that game is often decided on a lucky break.

Todays game US Vs Ghana illustrates what makes this even worse. A referee makes a bad call, 11 meter is almost a guaranteed goal. Bad calls can influence a game in other sports, but bad 11 meters are often game deciding. It is extremely difficult to overcome a gift goal gifted by the ref.

Then on to the athletes themselves. What a bunch of pussies. Falling to get the cheap call all the time has been elevated to an art form. Rolling around as if badly injured, a minute latter runnning full sprint. I boxed for 10 years, had my nose broken three times. I NEVER quit in a fight just because my nose was broken. Kostya Tszu fought 7 rounds in a world championship fight with a broken hand. These fuckers do down over nothing.

The sport really needs an overhaul. Get a blue line, like Hockey has. Once you clear he blue line, off sides is over. Develop a penalty box so you can penalize a player with something less than shorthanding his team for the whole game. And penaliz acting - harshly. Fake falling, begging for a penalty- that shit needs to go. Last, get rid of the 11 meter penalt shot. It's all but a guaranteed goal. Move it to 15 meters or something reaonable like that.

all that just because the U.S. is loosing Laughing

soccer is the world's sport for a reason and the rules work just fine, there might be an arguable ref call from time to time but thats not enough to change the fundemental rules of the game........ Smile

It's not just because we're losing, it's how we're losing. I've always had a rub with the off sides rule. It's too artificial, holds down scoring too much. The refs have too much influence on the outcome.

Lastly, there should be no tie games. Games should be played with a sudden death overtime if the game goes on more than 90 minutes.

MAD-MAC,

Americans hate soccer for one, and only one, reason: the fact that you can't score every 10 seconds like basketball or the goals don't get 7 points like in American Football. Americans are a society driven by instant gratification and lose interest in things quickly. That's why the rest of the world gathers around a table or plate to eat meals while Americans eat out of a drive-thru.

MAD-MAC,

Soccer doesn't neeed improvements. If it did, i'm pretty sure the whole world would have realized by now. It didn't become the world's # 1 sport for a reason. If soccer were boring governments wouldn't schedule their parliamentary sessions around it and universities wouldn't postpone exams till the world cup ends. Come on.

"Lastly, there should be no tie games. Games should be played with a sudden death overtime if the game goes on more than 90 minutes."

overtime is played once teams make it to the knockout rounds.

believe it or not offsides rule enhances the quality of the game so to take that away would be making soccer just another lazy a.ss sport instead of it being the most physically demanding sport in the world.

It's boring. I live in Germany and am tortured with it all the time. My son, who is German, is now a converted baseball fan. Soccer has lots of movement without result. But the worst of it is, when refs ruin a game with a bad 11 meter call. Ain't right.

Well, Cool didn't say it was a sin, and neither did I. I am not insinuating it should be banned, I am just saying it's BS.
