BET is very influential among young kids. I have a 15 year old relative who believes he's a real Blood!. He has a lil "gang", and they all wear red, and hate anyone who wears blue!.

An example of one of those kids is Advocator.

I agree; BET has a very negative influence on young people. Young people are made to believe the rap stuff and hip hop lifestyle is "cool."

i dont think that kids are that stupid, give them some credit. the ones who fall for it are the ones who already have something missing in there lives.

Kids are stupid because they actually believe what they see on BET to be true. They think rappers like Kanye West rob banks and sell drugs. What they are stupid enough not to understand is that that a great majority of rappers are actors (most likely from the suburbs) acting as hood.

i dont know about robbing banks but i am sure most of the rappers use drugs if not sell them. kids are naive but not stupid and just because they are attracted to the music and rhymes does not mean that they will go out and deal or engage in violence. they will accept that life style, maybe even think it is cool. but i doubt that they do crimes because 'its cool' most of the ones who do do them have to so as to get by. and for the few (because they are not the majority) who fall in the 'stupid' category are just, stupid.

the only ones who 'fall for it' are the white suburban kids who think its rebellious. for others, its a real lifestyle.

All I know is a lot of somali kids fall for it and as result deal drugs and engage in voilent acts. I don't live around African Americans but I am it is the same for their kids although they, unlike groups of people, have other factors that contribute to the reasons why they end up f'ed up. Somali need to ban BET and MTV from their households. I noticed Viacom, the company that currently owns BET and MTV, campaigns for homosexual acceptance.

I agree, BET has a huge impact on our young generation, However these sort of things can be easily avioded by parental control, block all those unnessceary channels while their still young.

Worst of all these rappers went to private school/board school, all those proclaims about getting shot 10 times is all a stunt to get fame instantly.

I don't know if any of you know LIL JON the producer/artist. Back in high school he was a average geek, the type that get their money taken.

Young viewers will consume what they see and hear on TV. It's not something new. But can be avioded as I said before.
