"The Army is a conservative institution."
Wrong; it's a secular institution.

You can be secular and conservative at the same time. Didn't that ever occur to you?

Madmac, if the US was invaded by Canada then you would've become an "insurgent" too

I understand that the Iraqis are oppossed to the foreign occupation of their territory. The problem I have with the native insurgents is that they don't have a plan for post occupation governance. Recently they are making peace overtures. Hopefully their intent is to move forward.
As for Al Qaeda, they are not legitimate combatants nor are they protected by the Geneva convention. We should simply execute all we capture.

If your stupid country folks didn't stick their ugly noses in where they weren't needed in the first place we wouldn't be worrying about plans for post occupation now would we? the brave mujahid's worry at the moment is to get rid of the problem that crawled into their country univited aka america (the one and only major problem inflicting the iraqis).

Now you know better. There have been conflincts between the Shi'ites-Sunnis-Kurds in Iraq since there has been an Iraq. Arabs just don't know how to play well with others.

This is why i oppose every war. Only the innocents get hurt. What would warrant someone to gang rape an innocent woman and burn her body? And then massacre her entire family?

The same thing that drives pyschopaths to do that everywhere. That's why psychos are bad, they kill for no reason. I kill for money, it's a job. No wait, that didn't sound right......

MAD-MAC-But the truth is that the military has more psychos than any other institution as it attracts every dead beat and retard who couldn't go to college. Another truth is that soldiers who see combat are more likely to suffer from mental illnesses which drives them to commit psychopathic actions.
Low IQ+War Trauma+dangerous weapons=recipe for disaster.

As much, I hate to agree with you but I am forced to agree on this. I am with kicking out occupiers, heck I am with kicking out Saud family, Sabah family, Al-Nahyan family, Khalifah family, Mubarak, Asad and al these puppies and secular governments. But Islamists got no plan to run any state. Other than chopping poor peopleÂ’s hands and stoning !! I understand the state of frustration we living inÂ… However, we need to plan for next step after we kick those scams and their puppiesÂ’ regimes.

EVERYwhere in the world, people have domestic quarells and this has been human nature for eons (domestic fights over land, water, etc etc). they are just that, domestic feuds. kurds, arabs and shiast in iraq lived side by side for centuries and know one another better than anyone else. despite their diffrences, there has never been bombing raids in mosques, market places, police station etce or hostilities of the nature we are witnessing now. will u be gentleman enough to stand up and admit your forces of evil is to blame for all this mess? after you do that, kindly show us your back and never ask again what happens post war

Simply they are idiots who know nothing about Islam. Islam never allowed to destroy churces or any place for workshiping. How it's ok to bomb mosques for both sides?

But, honey, you mentioned the entire world. And when you Muslims say "the world" you really mean the muslim world.
The fact is that there's always been disagreements between shias and sunnis which often resulted in bloodshed.
The shias and sunnis in Iraq lived side by side peacefully because of Saddam Hussein. Sunnis had no reason to kill the shias but their leader was doing that for them and the shias had no power or resources to kill anyone. Their first chance at freedom and they are blowing each other's mosques. So don't make it seem as if there is harmony between Shias and Sunnis.
