I read this book in my high school career, predictable but dull, its the usual women battle cry 'i survived'. I thought the book sometimes painted a picture of male chauvinism and brutality in Somali society, something i dont agree with, and the book in a way sympthasied with the feminist cause. however, its interesting read.
