Somaliman

It is true that censorship is common all over the world but Islamist censorship tends to be more serious.

My view is this: No censorship by the State. I prefer parents to be given the right to use their judgement of what and what is not suitable for viewing by their children. They could be given guidelines by Child Psychologists of what is reasonable at different ages and abilities.

Wadaads if they had any power or sense would ban Qat which not only causes madness but also leads to all kinds of other unspeakable stuff.

Who dtermines what is, and isn't immoral ?? And by what criteria will they measure this "immorality?" Will the showing of Halle Berry's boob in "Swordfish" fit such criteria? And also, I STILL HIGHLY doubt the validity of the allegegations that said theatres were showing "porn". I don't believe it. And until I see the wadaad's holding up a banned version of "Debbie Does Dalls", i'll NEVER believe it. Porn! Bah, indeed. Poppyc'oack, bollocks and hogwash

Anything that consist of immoral un Islamic and the western influence culture should be banned completely; such immoral behavior should not be tolerated by the Islamic Republic of Somalia.

So that means pretty much no movies. Because there isn't an Islamic movie industry is there?

Like Advocator said, they really used to show porn in theatres and everybody who visited Somalia few years ago could confirm this.

You said that it's not immoral to show topless women? So what is immoral then? There is something called xalaal and xaraam in Islam and watching topless women goes well beyond the xaraam according to any standars.

Censorship exists in all societies. It seems that people are looking at anything to smear the islamic revolution in somalia.

Don't read the propaganda sites.

Vice should be banned.

No, I didn't say it wasn't immoral. I just asked, hypothetically, if the shot of Halle Berry's boob would render that movie immoral, and therefore banned, because of that one shot.

As for the porn, I tend to still have my doubts, but I trust Advo's judgement. If he insists genuine porn was bein shown, i'll believe take his word for it.

Human empathy. Do you wanna lose your life? No! THEREFORE, killing IS immoral. See how it works?

Of course, porn and movies aren't moral issues. Do you see why porn watching isn't 'moral' issue at all?

there are still movies that can be watched.......I don't blame them for wanting to impose some moral standards.
