Love 'em.My fav is "Teach Your Children Well" Also, "Marrakesh Express is a great song

You who are on the road
Must have a code that you can live
by
And so become yourself
Because the past is just a
good bye.

Teach your children well,
Their
father's hell did slowly go by,
And feed them on your
dreams
The one they picked, the one you'll know by./>
Don't you ever ask them why, if they told you, you
would cry,
So just look at them and sigh and know they love
you.

And you, of tender years,
Can't know
the fears that your elders grew by,
And so please help them
with your youth,
They seek the truth before they can
die.

Teach your parents well,
Their
children's hell will slowly go by,
And feed them on
your dreams
The one they picked, the one you'll know
by.

Don't you ever ask them why, if they told
you, you would cry,
So just look at them and sigh and know
they love you.

Mitcheal, if you litsened " Southren Cross" song, man I think few artists have so descriptive songs.

Here is the begining:

Got out of town on a boat, going to Southern islands.
Sailing a reach before a following sea.
She was making for the trades on the outside, and the downhill run to Papeete.

Off the wind on this heading lie the Marquesas,
we got eighty feet of the waterline, nicely making way.
In a noisy bar in Avalon, I tried to call you.
But on a midnight watch I realized why twice you ran away.

Nice stuff.

Cheroke, what makes classic rock makes so good is most of them have t imaginative, and intriguing lyrics. Some times they resemble as you are reading some novel from Saturn.

I'm not into Crosby, Still and Nash. But I always was a great fan of Neil Young. He's a true musician. There's a song I specially love: "Don't cry, no tears around me". And a record called Moctezuma. It's one of my favourites.

LOVE Neil Young. My fav, "Cortez the Killer"

He came dancing across the water
With his galleons and guns
Looking for the new world
In that palace in the sun.

On the shore lay montezuma
With his coca leaves and pearls
In his halls he often wondered
With the secrets of the worlds.

And his subjects gathered round him
Like the leaves around a tree
In their clothes of many colors
For the angry gods to see.

And the women all were beautiful
And the men stood straight and strong
They offered life in sacrifice
So that others could go on.

Hate was just a legend
And war was never known
The people worked together
And they lifted many stones.

They carried them to the flatlands
And they died along the way
But they built up with their bare hands
What we still cant do today.

And I know shes living there
And she loves me to this day
I still cant remember when
Or how I lost my way.

He came dancing across the water
Cortez, cortez
What a killer.
