I must admit when i was younger i thought the word midgaan was a swear word, only recently i realised it was actually a name of a clan!

I just realised that midgaans are at the bottom of the somali clan chain and was wondering why is that? I mean what did this clan do that is so awful, my mum gave me an explanation that they have no morals etc.

what are ur 'theories' or whatever i mean i heard that midgaans actually hide their true tribal identity so that they're not prejudiced against. Miskiins!

I am Midgaan(maybe we all are.. )...and they say we are descendants of Gorgaarte...Us and the hawiye clan were two brothers...our forefather decided to eat a dead Goat's meat because of hunger...so thats why they said he was Midgaan.

Actauly I bet all ( well most) of the pretty women you've seen and most oo the gourgeous men are Midgo, although many other somali qabiils have beautiful ppl...so you be the judge. YOu can start with Moi if you desire.

Yeah, the old folktale of one old dude eating bakhti and refusing to throw it up later when they got fresh meat. And then there are those who earned their low caste category by the simple fact of being an skilled person.

Kabo Tole = Shoemaker, Tumaal = Blacksmith, Eeyle = Hunter and then the farmer was called Qoti and then followed the barber and so on and so on............ basically if you ain't a camel fukker, that makes you a low caste

The proper term to address them is Madibhan, Midgaan is an insult just as qaldaan is to an insult to isaaqs, and same goes for faqash to Darood.

Midgan are cool!

Are Madhibaan a single clan?

Are there multiple organizations, like unions for the different professions?
