After the end of the meeting, both presidents issued a joint communiqué about the politics of Africa and the Muslim world.
In their communiqué, the two leaders stressed the need to stick around for the upshots of Khartoum peace talks between the fragile Somali government and the Union of Islamic Courts, adding that impulsive troop deployment might result anther destruction and loss of lives.

Mr. Ahmedinajad praised his Djiboutian counterpart for the great struggle of mediating Somali leaders and trying to make every endeavor to hamper bloodshed in Somalia.

The first outcome of Khartoum meeting between the Somali government and the Islamists showed an enthusiasm from both sides to reach an agreement.

They expressed that possibility of combining their forces, but only if they concur up on basic standing issues.
